Pedro L. Castro is a specialist in fish tissue analysis. In the MICROBIOMES4SOY project, he will study how improved soya ingredients—developed by other project partners—affect the digestive health and gut bacteria of seabass. His laboratory will examine the structure of the fish’s intestines, measure immune system responses, and identify signs of inflammation. These health indicators will help build a clearer understanding of how soya influences fish well-being, contributing to more sustainable aquaculture practices.
